Confidence Boost for the Week: 9.8.13
The happiness of your life depends upon the quality of your thoughts: therefore, guard accordingly, and take care that you entertain no notions unsuitable to virtue and reasonable nature. – Marcus Aurelius
This Week’s Tip:
Kill Negative Thoughts
This is preached over and over — but it is worth mentioning again. You can not foster a strong sense of self confidence, while fostering negative thoughts about yourself and your abilities. One of the most things to remember when making the choice to change your frame of thinking is to be patient. These thoughts did not become habitual overnight and they certainly will not disappear overnight.
There is an excellent post here on the site about changing your thoughts. Ironically it is called “Practical Tips for Tackling Negative Thoughts” — it includes an activity to help you capture these negative thoughts by cataloging them and evaluating them.
An effective tool for tackling negative thoughts is the use of affirmations. Check in with the Facebook Page during the week, we frequently post affirmations that you can use as is, or rewrite to better fit you. Either way, it’s a step in the right direction towards positive thinking!
